Communication

Communication is very important to us at Meridian High School and we very much value the feedback and kind comments we regularly receive from our parents and carers. Working collaboratively for our children is essential to the ongoing success of our school. Please find below a reminder of the communication processes we have in place for you.

Who Should I Contact?

We want to make it as easy as possible for parents and carers to contact the right member of staff. Your child’s Tutor should normally be your first point of contact and can either help directly or pass your concern to the most appropriate staff member.

Who to contact What they can help with
Tutor Day-to-day questions, general progress, organisation, friendships and minor concerns
Pastoral Welfare Leader Behaviour, wellbeing, relationships and wider pastoral support
Senior Leader Academic progress, teaching and learning, or concerns requiring senior leadership support
Attendance Leader Attendance, punctuality, absence and barriers affecting attendance

Where possible, please contact your child’s Tutor first. If your concern is more specific, you may contact the relevant member of the year-group team directly. If you are unsure who to contact, the school office will make sure your message reaches the right person.

We have a very clear communication process in place so that we are able to best support you.  Unfortunately, we are unable to miss stages of our policy and must follow the structure in place. We always aim to resolve any concerns at stage 1 of our process however if you wish to escalate a concern to stage 2 you do need to submit the relevant paperwork outlining the cause for concern and the resolution you are seeking before a meeting will be arranged.

We aim to acknowledge and respond to all parent and carer communications within 48 working hours. More complex enquiries may take longer to resolve, but we will keep you informed of our progress.

Similarly, we love to receive your positive comments and we share these with our staff who are working relentlessly to ensure our children are receiving the best education and support we can provide.
