Rewards
At Meridian High School, we operate a range of rewards systems that work collectively to reinforce the messages of our whole ethos of presenting the best version of ourselves based on our key values of Challenge, Learn, Achieve, Resilience, Ambition and Respect.
Rewards at Meridian
We believe that rewards play a central role in promoting a culture of success and high standards of participation, positive behaviour for learning, and attainment. The rewards systems at Meridian High School also has a motivational role in helping students understand that outstanding, considerate behaviour, self-awareness and responsibility to self and others is valued.
Students are awared positive points in lessons, extracurricular clubs and out of class to students who display our core values and ethos.
I Achieve
We have carefully constructed a set of tasks for students to challenge themselves outside of their lessons. Students can complete any of the I Achieve challenges and once completed show this to their form tutor. The form tutor will then give the students an I Achieve completion slp which will be entered into a half termly prize draw where the students can win an electronic device or a £50 voucher.
Above and Beyond- Year Group Challenge
The above and beyond challenges students to really excel in lessons above the high expectations that we hold. If students achieve one of the above and beyond challenges it will be recognised by their teacher through the rewarding of a year group token. Students will then deposit their token in their year group box. The year group that have collected the most tokens by the end of the year will be rewarded with a trip to Thorpe Park.
Celebrating success
Beautiful book certificates and prizes for students who are nominated by their teachers.
Students who achieve the most positive points with no negative points are invited to breakfast at the end of each half term.
Each week the tutor groups with 100% attendance are awarded with a cake tray
