Carols by Candlelight
It has become a Meridian High School tradition to invite our Year 7 students to perform as the 'headline act' at our annual Carols by Candlelight Christmas concert and this year was no exception.
On Wednesday 13th December, our Year 7s, alongside our school choir, 'Vox' and soloists from years 8-11 wowed the audience with their vocal performances. Year 7 student, Robbie Thorpe kicked off proceedings by singing the first verse of 'Once in Royal David's City' as a solo, which he did beautifully. This was then followed by two performances from 'Vox', and a stunning rendition of 'Mary Did You Know?', performed by Year 11 students Courtney Turner and Charley Brown.
The final performance of the night was given by the whole of Year 7, who sang 'Sing' by Gary Barlow and it was absolutely amazing. The vocal performances were interspersed with readings given by our Chair of Governors, Head Boy and Head Girl, poetry read by our gifted and talented drama group and traditional Christmas carols, which were accompanied by the local New Addington Salvation Army brass band.
It was truly a night to remember and a great opportunity for the students, staff, parents and carers of the Meridian High School family to celebrate the festive season together.
