World Book Day 2018
On Thursday 8th March, we celebrated World Book Day (we weren’t going to let a little snow the week before spoil our fun).
The library was a hive of activity during break and both lunch times, as students came to collect their free books and vouchers, complete word searches and enter literary competitions.
The competitions had been running all week and students had the opportunity to design book covers, have a go at a Big Book Quiz and even enter the ‘Guess the Teacher’ competition.
It was brilliant to see students sitting on beanbags reading their new novels or sitting in groups at tables discussing quiz answers. It was fantastic to see the students so enthusiastic about reading.
Congratulations to all our competition winners who were all awarded certificates and prizes from Mr Giles in assembly this week. A massive thank you must go to our Librarian, Mrs Oakely, and her group of student volunteers who helped to make the day such a huge success.
